Picking up the pace..

It's been about 10 years since I last ran a 4k session- I ran my "first" one today. High school Cross-country teams are easy to get join- no try outs and no cuts. I think about 18 people showed at the our first X-country practice session and we ran a 3k in a golf course during a lighting storm. Which is THE MOST memorable event in my life till date. It melts me heart when I think about it. I didn't run well because I was out of shape at the start of the season but I managed to finish the run totally exhausted and soaked to the bone.

As you can see I tried to keep a pace of about 9' 22"/ mile but ended up with a 9'47".. not bad I guess. I'm working my way up to a 5k run. After running 3k for the past few months, I thought I should pick up the distance a bit. My best 5K time was 22:45 in High school. It wasn't the best time on the team but I was very happy with it. I think the fastest on our team was Lance with a 17 some thing...

Obtw, something strange happened when I pressed and held the center for my powersong- my nano paused my session. I had to almost come to a halt to see what was wrong. It was a very crappy was to end a run.. stopping to fix your $*&# and running again for the last 100 meter..
A great reat run none the less.. :)
